INDUSTRY experience
Nadia Akaweih is a Partner at The Teer Group, leading the firm’s Intellectual Property and General Counsel Advisory practice. She advises CEOs, founders, boards, and executive leadership teams on protecting and commercializing intellectual capital while aligning legal architecture with enterprise growth strategy. At The Teer Group, Nadia integrates intellectual property protection into broader business transformation, scalability planning, and long-term value creation initiatives. Her work ensures that patents, trademarks, copyrights, licensing structures, and brand governance frameworks are positioned not simply for compliance—but as strategic assets that enhance valuation, support capital readiness, and strengthen competitive advantage. She partners with leadership teams to design IP portfolios aligned with expansion strategy, investor diligence, M&A positioning, and digital market growth. Her advisory scope includes trademark and patent strategy, commercialization planning, influencer and NIL agreement oversight, enterprise risk mitigation, and fractional general counsel support for growth-stage and IP-driven organizations. Nadia also serves as the Founder & Principal Attorney of Akaweih Law, PLLC, where she provides intellectual property and brand protection services to founders, creators, athletes, and scaling enterprises. This practice complements her role at The Teer Group by delivering executional depth alongside enterprise-level advisory. Her background includes experience as a Student Patent Examiner with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and collaboration with national IP firm Knobbe Martens on international patent portfolio strategy—providing her with technical fluency across innovation-driven sectors. Nadia holds an LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center with a focus on patent law, a Juris Doctor, a Master of Science from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Baylor University. A former athlete and first-generation Arab American attorney, Nadia brings disciplined execution, global perspective, and cultural fluency to her advisory relationships. She is committed to equipping modern enterprises and founder-led organizations with sophisticated legal strategy that strengthens protection, enhances scalability, and drives sustained competitive advantage.
